  • Description: Taking pictures and "horsing" around on the tracks that carried ore from mine to chute. Johns Hopkins Inlet quickly became a fun family destination. "Hitching" a ride "up bay" Dorothy White standing with camera. Nell Parker's head on tracks. Les Parker's Leroy gold mine claim.

  • Description: Grumman Goose mail carrier aircraft bringing news from the "outside". An occasion of community-wide anticipation! Huge improvement from 1925 once a month Virgina IV mailboat delivering to an anchored out scow at mouth of Salmon River. Weather permitting, settlers then retrieved.

  • Description: Snow scene eastside of Salmon River at what was Verne & Janie Henry's attempted homestead. Bert & Jennie originally lived in Joe Simpson's abandoned home, then moved to Henry's place on "Strawberry Lane". Oldest daughter Alberta on homemade wooden "stilts" in the snow.
