WINCHESTER MODEL 1886
Made by Winchester Repeating Arms Co. in New Haven Conn. Pat. Oct. 14, 1884, the Model 1886 was produced from 1886 to 1928. Abraham Lincoln Parker’s Model 1886 in caliber 45-70 was made in 1897; one of 4366 made that year. He carried this rifle over the Klondike's "Trail of 98”, looking for gold. On a home scale this rifle weighs 10 lbs.
