Parks To Benefit By ‘Mission 66'
JUNEAU, (Special) — The nationwide Park Service program known as "Mission 66" will bring substantial improvements to service facilities in Alaska, according to Henry G. Schmidt, superintendent of Sitka and Glacier Bay national monuments, who was a Juneau visitor last week.
In Glacier Bay National Monument, work will start this year on a dock at Bartlett Cove. Later another dock will be built at Sandy Cove and six ranger stations will be constructed throughout the monument. A road was built from Gustavus to Bartlett Cove last year.
