The wooden structure "tower" in the left foreground (with access ladder) was a home-made "windmill" built by Abraham Lincoln Parker and had a generator designed to keep batteries charged. The overhead wooden tunnel structure on the Good River bridge was the "draw" section to allow boats access to further upstream.
The Good River was much deeper at low tide in earlier times than it is today and was navigatable for a much greater distance.
Buildings across river are on the original Taggert homestead, later where Goods lived, and in this photo Harry Halls place as of 1919.
