First Salmon River Bridge Built By A. L. Parker; Strawberry Point, Alaska.

First "draw" bridge to span Salmon River contracted to A. L. Parker & sons in 1922 for $1950 using Parker sawmill lumber. This photo c.1930 with Bill White homestead barn seen south side of road & taken from present day City Hall location (site of original schoolhouse west side of river).


GHAA Note: GHAA has Abraham Lincoln Parker's orginal blueprints of the first Salmon River "draw" bridge contracted by the Alaska Road Commission.  It contains exact dimensions and many other interesting details. This additional information will be added to this text when the blueprints (very fragile) are catalogued and archived.
